All-in-one parent group software

Why groups choose it

  • Broad toolset covers memberships, communications, fundraising, websites, stores, contacts, and other parent-group administration
  • State PTA integrations can simplify dues remittance, reporting, and compliance for participating PTA units
  • Centralizes many jobs that parent groups otherwise handle across several separate tools

Tradeoffs to consider

  • Pro starts at $499 per year, while fundraiser and store transaction costs apply separately
  • Some of Givebacks' most distinctive advantages are PTA-specific and may provide less value to independent PTOs, PTGs, and booster clubs
  • Fundraiser pricing is relatively complex, with separate Tip and Percent models that can shift different costs between the organization and donors

What to know about Givebacks

Givebacks is more than a fundraising platform

Givebacks includes memberships, contacts, newsletters and messaging, websites, calendars, stores, point of sale, fundraising, directories, and financial-management tools. Parent groups can use it as a central administrative system rather than only as a donation checkout.

PTA integration is a major differentiator

For units whose state PTA partners with Givebacks, the platform can integrate membership reporting, compliance workflows, and state dues remittance. That can eliminate administrative work that independent PTOs, PTGs, and booster clubs do not have in the first place.

Non-PTA groups should evaluate it differently

PTOs, PTGs, booster clubs, and other independent organizations can use Givebacks' broader platform, but they may not benefit from its state PTA integrations. For those groups, the relevant question is whether the website, communications, store, fundraising, membership, and administrative tools justify the annual and transaction costs.

The website is tightly integrated with the platform

Givebacks includes templates and a drag-and-drop custom page editor with text, images, buttons, and other content blocks. It can automatically surface information such as officers, events, fundraisers, and store items. Its primary advantage is that the website is connected to the rest of Givebacks rather than functioning as a separate website system.

Communications are more capable than simple email blasts

Givebacks supports newsletters, quick messages, recipient lists, audience targeting, open and click reporting, and reusable newsletter content. Groups can target communications to classes, grades, teams, committees, members, and other lists.

Annual pricing and fundraising costs are separate

Givebacks Pro costs $499 per year and Premium costs $599 per year. Those subscriptions pay for the broader parent-group platform. Fundraiser and store transaction costs apply separately.

Tip Model does not eliminate processing

Givebacks charges no fundraiser platform fee under the Tip Model, but standard-card processing of 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction is deducted from the organization's proceeds. Givebacks may also ask donors for optional tips that support Givebacks rather than the parent group.

Percent Pricing gives groups more control

Under Percent Pricing, Givebacks adds a 7.5% platform fee in addition to card processing. Groups can absorb those fees, pass them to donors, or ask donors whether they want to cover them.

Givebacks is especially compelling for affiliated PTAs

Givebacks has an advantage that most parent-group platforms do not: relationships with participating state PTA organizations.

For affiliated PTAs

Givebacks can integrate membership reporting, compliance, and state dues remittance into the same system used to manage members, communicate with families, sell items, and raise money.

That can materially change the value of the platform for a PTA.

For independent parent groups

PTOs, PTGs, booster clubs, and other independent organizations do not need state PTA reporting or dues remittance. Those groups should evaluate Givebacks primarily on its website, communications, store, fundraising, membership, and administrative tools.

Common questions

Givebacks works with participating state PTAs and can integrate membership management, state reporting, compliance, and dues remittance into the same platform a local unit uses for fundraising, communications, websites, and other administration. For an affiliated PTA, that can remove substantial administrative work.

No. Givebacks also serves PTOs, booster clubs, schools, and other nonprofit organizations. However, independent groups do not necessarily receive the same value from Givebacks’ state PTA-specific reporting, compliance, and dues-remittance integrations.

Givebacks currently lists Pro at $499 per year and includes its storefront, point of sale, contact database, membership management, communications, fundraisers, financial-management tools, website, directory, calendar, Givebacks app, and other platform features.

Givebacks includes several page layouts as well as a drag-and-drop Custom Page Editor. Groups can add text, images, buttons, backgrounds, and other content while also incorporating information from their Givebacks account, such as events, officers, fundraisers, and store items.

Some content can be retained and reused. Givebacks supports file storage, persistent contacts, and newsletter archiving for reuse in future years. Groups should separately evaluate whether those tools provide the kind of board-transition and historical record their organization needs.

Givebacks publishes Pro at $499 per year and Premium at $599 per year. Transaction costs for fundraising, store purchases, and other payment flows can apply separately.

The Tip Model has no Givebacks fundraiser platform fee. Standard-card processing of 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation is deducted from the organization’s proceeds, and the organization cannot pass that processing fee to donors under this model. Givebacks may separately invite donors to leave optional tips that support Givebacks.

Percent Pricing adds a 7.5% Givebacks platform fee to card-processing costs. The organization can absorb the fees, require donors to cover them, or ask donors whether they want to cover them.

No. Tips collected for Givebacks support the Givebacks platform rather than the organization running the fundraiser. Because donor tipping behavior cannot be reliably predicted, this calculator does not estimate those tips.

Givebacks requires organizations to create the Stripe account used for its store and fundraising flows through Givebacks. Its documentation says an existing independent Stripe account cannot simply be connected for those transactions.

The primary fundraiser result models Givebacks’ published standard-card campaign pricing. American Express uses a different published processing rate and is shown separately rather than blended into the estimate.
